Privacy Policy
We believe privacy is a right, not a premium feature. Here is exactly how Parolina handles your data.
Local-first by design
Parolina stores your vocabulary data locally in your browser using IndexedDB. Your saved words, phrases, and learning progress never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to enable cloud sync (a future premium feature).
Minimal permissions
Parolina requests only the permissions it needs to function:
- Access to selected text on webpages — to save words and phrases you choose
- Storage permission — to save your vocabulary locally in your browser
No tracking
Parolina does not collect analytics, track your browsing behaviour, or send usage data to any server. There are no third-party analytics scripts, no cookies, and no fingerprinting. What you do in your browser stays in your browser.
Data export and portability
You can export your complete vocabulary collection at any time with one click. Parolina provides manual export and import functionality so your data is always yours — no lock-in, ever. We believe ownership is essential.
Cloud sync (future feature)
When cloud sync is introduced as a premium feature, it will be optional and opt-in. Your data will be encrypted during transmission and at rest. Local-first storage will always remain available, and you can choose what works best for you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy as Parolina evolves. We will notify users of material changes through the extension or website.
